When other systems have already been put into place and changing them to a new software or process just isn't an option, an interface to TheraOffice allows for data to be transferred to and from the other applications.

TheraOffice supports bi-directional HL7 based interfaces. There are 4 standard interfaces which can be slightly modified depending on the HL7 message incoming or outgoing:

1. Patient Demographic – Imports or Exports new patients and updates existing patients.
2. Scheduling – Imports or Exports schedule appointment creation and updates.
3. Charge Export – Exports new charges after a note is completed in TheraOffice Documentation.
4. Complete Custom Interface – A purely custom interface based off the HL7 specifications. This interface would be specifically designed for the facility.

The standard interfaces can be combined when installed. In most cases, only 1 or 2 interfaces are needed. To begin work on an interface, an interface guide is required by the other vendor.

In addition, TheraOffice also can export certain parts of some data through TheraOffice Administrator’s Data Exporter feature which will do a complete data export in a tab delimited file. This is commonly used for data analysis.
