One of the most attractive characteristics about TheraOffice is the ability to customize almost anything that you want in order to make it your own. With TheraOffice being built by an actual physical therapist, we have understood the importance of an all-in-one solution since day one. At the same time, we have also prioritized maintaining the flexibility of the software so that every therapist that uses it can tailor it to fit their exact workflow, contrary to the way most other platforms build their software where it ends up being the other way around.

As a result of TheraOffice being so customizable, Marlene S., low vision OT, owner of Low Vision Strategies, and Co-Founder of Theia OT, was able to quickly begin molding the system to fit her unique needs. From the very beginning, she was confident that TheraOffice was the right choice for her as well as those looking to start a low vision practice of their own.

“It is a cost-effective way to start using an EMR. Since the templates have already been built, it makes it simple to use right away.”

Marlene brings up a very good point here. Whether you are a start-up practice or an established one, implementing and utilizing an EMR effectively can be a daunting task for anyone. Marlene was able to work with the TheraOffice team to make powerful changes so that the software has even more to offer right out of the box for a low vision occupational therapist.

Dan Morrill, PT, DPT, and CEO/Co-Founder at TheraOffice, and various other TheraOffice team members had the opportunity to work with Marlene and understand exactly what she was looking for in an EMR. Dan M. stated that he vividly remembers being virtually introduced to Marlene and Nilima. He was extremely excited to be a part of this partnership with them.

“I knew TheraOffice could digitize the Low Vision Therapy templates and build them directly into our single platform, which includes all the other pieces of running a practice (Scheduling, Documentation, Accounting, and Reporting).”

Perhaps the largest reason Marlene and Nilima recommend TheraOffice to their clients is because of the ability to customize documentation specifically to fit their unique specialty. Marlene spent time making changes to the default OT document type and developed a template that could be shared with other low vision therapists. Yet shortly after going live and becoming even more accustomed with TheraOffice, she was ready to take that template to the next level.

Marlene approached our Professional Services Team with the task to create a low vision document type (more on this in part three of this series) that functions independently of the default OT document type. Ultimately, this would allow for even more flexibility with future clinics because they would have the option to utilize the default OT document type for regular OT patients while having the option to switch to the low vision document type for their low vision patients. This gives clinics the best of both worlds and providers the freedom to really document in a way that is efficient and effective for each individual patient.
